Learning takes place in the library.
Parents often wonder what their children do in the library classroom. Don't they just check out books? I'm often asked about grades that are earned in the library. Checking out books is only a part of what we do in the library. Below are just a few of the 21st Century skills that are taught through the school library program.
American Association of School Librarians Standards for the 21st-Century Learner in Action. AASL. Print. 2009.
- Inquire, think critically and gain knowledge.
- Draw conclusions, make informed decisions, apply knowledge to new situations, and create new knowledge.
